Estelle is OPEN

Estelle Unit is open. The AC has already planned several activities. See the activities and dates below. We pray you are able to volunteer and share the Good News with the men in white.

• Prayer and Share

  • Every Sunday from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM @ the Estelle Unit (Please note the Gate time is 2:30 PM)

  • This is the heart of the Kairos Prison Ministry, and Volunteers are needed for the weekly meetings. The Kairos brothers are formed into small accountability groups and each member shares his spiritual life with the other members of his group, and then pair off and pray for each other. Our Kairos brothers love to see the volunteers come to be with them in these meetings!

• Monthly Reunion

  • Fourth Sunday of the month from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM @ the Estelle Unit (Please note the Gate time is 2:30 PM)

  • This monthly meeting is a time the Kairos Community invites non-Kairos inmates to come and see what Kairos is all about. The Kairos Inside Council leads the meeting, and several Kairos brothers share what Kairos means to them. We need several of our Volunteer team there to participate in each of these meetings.

  • Next one is April 24th

• Team Fellowship and Prayer meeting

  • April 30th from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM @ TWMC

  • We have a lot to be thankful for with CoVid restrictions lifted and the resumption of our full program. As you can see the Estelle team will have a busy May and we’ll be praying for God’s blessing and guidance. [We’ll skip fellowship in May an resume in June.]

  • Come Pray for what God has accomplished and what will be accomplished in the coming months.

  • Please let me know whether you’ll be attending or not.  Spouses and guests are encouraged and always welcome.

• Retreat Team Meeting

  • May 14th from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM @ TWMC

  • The Kairos model for a Retreat includes a Team Meeting the Friday night before the Retreat begins, but we will have our Team Meeting on the Saturday morning before the Retreat. It is a time for the team to gather together and prepare spiritually for the Retreat. Four talks will be given at the Retreat, and the Volunteers themselves will decide who will give the talks. The talks are very informal, with only a scripture, and a few main points, and the Volunteer giving the talk will just talk from his experience with the subject.

  • We will need at least fifteen Volunteers to participate in the Retreat and Team meeting.

• Retreat and Cookie Distribution

  • May 21st from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM @ the Estelle Unit (Please note the Gate time is 7:00 AM)

  • The Retreat is a time for the entire Kairos Community to come together, including all the residents and all the Volunteer team. Our leader will be Curt McGhee, and we need at least 15 Volunteers to participate.

  • During the meeting, the Kairos brothers will be divided into small groups, similar to Prayer and Share, and will discuss the content of each of the four talks. One Volunteer will be a part of each of the small groups, and will serve as Host for the group discussion.

  • The Retreat is a time for those Kairos brothers that are not grouping in Prayer and Share to experience grouping and hopefully decide that they should be participating in that experience weekly.

Prayer & Share

Weekly Prayer and Share Meeting are resuming.  Here's what you need to know...

• Meetings will follow a new format per Kairos standards with small accountability groups

• Two volunteers will be allowed to attend each meeting.  One of the volunteers will be a Facilitator and will need to complete the required training.

• The newly formatted meetings will be held weekly on Sunday afternoons.  The meetings will start at 3:30 PM and will be approximately an hour and a half long.

• Required Facilitator training is posted here. Volunteers interested in serving as a Facilitator can self-train by studying the document.

Estelle #12 Update

We will be holding Estelle #12 weekend of April 11th - 14th.   

As of now, we are proceeding as if the weekend will take place.  Below are the tentative dates for our Planned Team Meetings:

• New Volunteers, Mentors, Weekend Leaders and trainers Se

• 1st Team Meeting February 24th 

• 2nd Team Meeting March 2nd

• 3rd Team Meeting March 30th

• 4th Team Meeting April 6th

• Kairos Instructional Reunion at the unit will be April 20th
